Progress

Just an update on progress. The site is actually up but only accessible by my IP as I try to fix the remaining issues – mostly permissions. Got some lousy ImageMagick/GD problem with generating text on a graphic meaning that the captcha (number security on a form thingy) does not work right now.
Most of the data has been recovered – will go into detail when the site is back up.
If I can work out the permissions/cron jobs/captcha and a few other small issues then I think it can be back up tonite. Will update you.

A reminder below of what dannychoo.com was and will always continue to be – bear with me a for wee bit longer before its all up n running.

ちょっとしたアップデート。サーバーのOSReloadが完了し、PHPやMYSQLなどの楽しい設定が終わりました。現在はフォルダーのCHMODの権限やクロンの設定、などをしているところです。画像を生成するImageMagickにはちょっとトラブっています。
今日復帰出来ると思います。またアップデートします。
下は今までとこれからのダニー・チューどっとこむです。これからもよろしくお願いします。

Digg worse than DOS attack

Digg.com must be the most powerful weapon in the universe (no exaggeration). Not only did it bring down the site, it burnt out the drive!
Working on resorting mysql databases (unicode problems), imagemagick compile, new php build etc etc

I know that many of you have landed here from digg – if you like all stuff japanese/life+photos from japan/anime/gundam/figures/mac stuff etc then check back soon when the server should be up n running.

Update

This is my room right now. A complete mess as I try to get the server back up n running.
Ton of terminal windows open on the mac – all doing different things.
I’m waiting for the technicians to bring back up the machine again. Will then proceed to configure and compile php.mysql and imagemagick.
Will then copy data from my localhost to the machine. The latest snapshot I have is from last wednesday so 3 days of data are lost…
Got some Moetans yesterday which are just sitting there…

サーバーのディスクがクラッシュ。現在はPHPやMYSQLやImageMagickなどをコンパイルしないとあかん。食べたり、うんちしたり、フィギュアを遊んだりしなければ、多分今日は復帰出来ると思う。スナップショットは水曜日が最新。なのでそれ以降のデーターは台無し。

Server update

Server is back up with an OS Reload complete.
I need to salvage what data I can from a corrupted disk/re compile php/imagemagick etc etc.

GAHHHHHHH!

I think I can get it all done today though – just skip breakfast/lunch/dinner and avoid going for a pee and poo.

And also avoid playing with figures and my new set of Moetan that I got yesterday.

The main server disk died completely. it will take me a while to get it back up…

Server is choking at 30,000 daily users.
Am working on trying to recover the server. In the meanwhile am ordering another server.
